Yellow split peas

Deliciously flavoursome peas

Yellow split peas are practically the same as green split peas. They taste the same but have a different colour. Because the skin around the pea has been removed, the pea is split in two halves, giving it its remarkable convex and flat side. Yellow split peas are grown in different places.

Lentils are ideal for use in stews, soups, salads or as a meat substitute.

How to prepare them

  1. Rinse the split peas.
  2. Wash them thoroughly.
  3. Then let them boil for 1 to 1.5 hours in a large pan with lid.
